Enabling the New Brand Design


Volkswagen is evolving from a pure automaker into a provider of modern mobility services and smart devices. The comprehensive rebranding was the logical consequence of this strategic reorientation.

For the new brand design, the design and visual language, the corporate identity and the communication style have been entirely revised in just nine months using a powerhouse concept and integrating all departments of the company as well as design specialists from each relevant communicative field.

As Product Owner for Digital Design I was responsible for the Living Styleguide – a tool to empower  Volkswagens markets worldwide through making the New Brand Design tangible on digital touchpoints.









Considering the specifications of applications, an additional styleguide was created. This document is intended to enable user to design and implement applications that contribute to the holistic brand experience of Volkswagen.
